Artist Profile
Christen Oatley is a Canadian artist whose work is rooted in nature, memory, and emotion.
After more than a decade as the founder and creative force behind Ten and Co.—one of North America’s leading sustainable sponge cloth brands—Christen stepped away from the world of eco textiles to return to what’s always driven her: creating meaningful, visual stories.
Christen's latest collection is part of her 100 day project- a collection of small oil paintings on raw canvas created everyday, for 100 days. The goal of this project was to practice, explore and experiment. Sticking to one medium proves difficult for Christen, so this has been a great challenge in the best possible way. "March 2026" is a collection of 20 framed studies from the first 40 days of the 100 Day project.
The Wilderness Collection marks the beginning of a new chapter — one rooted in exploration. Christen’s work blends photography with hand-finished elements like acrylic, oil, resin, and screen printing, but the style itself remains open and evolving. Each piece is an experiment in feeling and form, part of an ongoing journey to see where the work leads next.
The Wilderness Within Collection brings landscapes to life in layered, tactile ways, inviting the viewer to pause and feel — whether it’s the quiet stillness of fog over the Pacific or the scale of towering spruce against Alaskan peaks.
Before launching Ten and Co., Christen studied both business and interior design, laying the foundation for her instinctive sense of composition, storytelling, and building thoughtful, visually-led experiences.
